One of Garmin strenghts is that you can add several maps onto the same
device. You can also create your own maps, even though it is not easy. I do
not plan to tell you exact how to to so, but here are some useful links you
can go through when you want to make your own maps.

free map generating tool designed primarily for owners of Garmintm
GPS devices with mapping capability. Some features seems to cost money
though.
- Mapwel - also a
all-in-one solution to create your own maps.
- cGPSmapper
- this is a professional tool for creating maps. You won't get anything
free but you can tailor your maps to whatever you want.
- GPSMapEdit - a mapping
software you can use with cGPSmapper above.
- mkgmap - compile maps using OpenStreetMap format sources
